OUR MISSION
About Alderway
More Than Property Cleanup
Alderway is a family-founded community initiative serving Greenwood and the surrounding communities through practical property assistance. We help remove unwanted items, storm debris, and outdoor obstacles that have become difficult to manage alone, restoring safer, more welcoming spaces for those facing life's unexpected challenges.
While our work often begins with clearing a yard, porch, or driveway, our purpose has always been much greater. We believe every project is an opportunity to serve a person, strengthen a neighborhood, and leave our community a little better than we found it.
Our Mission
Our mission is to serve our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and practical support by helping restore safe, accessible outdoor spaces for individuals and families facing difficult circumstances.
We believe that asking for help should never be met with shame, and offering help should never come with judgment. Every referral represents a person, not a project, and every act of service is an opportunity to remind someone that they don't have to carry life's burdens alone.
As Alderway grows, we hope to inspire a community where people look out for one another, give generously of their time and resources, and choose kindness whenever they have the opportunity.
What to expect
-
We believe the process should be just as thoughtful as the work itself. Here's what you can expect when you connect with Alderway.
-
Every project begins with a referral through our website.
Whether you're referring a friend, neighbor, family member, or requesting help for yourself, we'll ask a few simple questions to help us better understand the situation. We intentionally keep our forms short because we know reaching out for help shouldn't feel overwhelming.
-
Once a referral is received, our board carefully reviews the information provided.
We'll consider the needs of the individual or family, the scope of the project, volunteer availability, available funding, equipment, and whether the request falls within Alderway's current capabilities.
Sometimes we may reach out with a few additional questions or request photos so we can better understand how to help.
-
If we believe we're able to help, we'll contact the individual receiving assistance by phone or email.
This conversation gives us an opportunity to answer questions, learn more about the project, confirm details, and begin creating a plan together.
We'll also work with them to find a date and time that fits both their schedule and ours.
-
No two projects are exactly alike.
Before work begins, we organize volunteers, gather equipment and supplies, coordinate disposal needs, and make sure everyone understands the plan for the day.
We believe a little preparation goes a long way toward making the experience smooth and stress-free for everyone involved.
-
When project day arrives, our volunteers come ready to work.
Whether we're removing storm debris, clearing unwanted items, or helping restore access to a property, our goal is simple: to lift a burden and leave the space a little better than we found it.
We know that behind every cleanup is a story, and we're honored to be trusted with it.
-
When the trailer is empty and the work is done, our hope is that we've done more than remove unwanted items.
We hope we've restored a little peace of mind, reminded someone they aren't alone, and contributed to a stronger, more connected community.
Because that's what Alderway is really about.
OUR LEADERSHIP
Built Small. Serving Big.
Alderway is led by a small family-founded board that remains actively involved in every project, every referral, and every decision. As we grow, our commitment remains the same: to lead with humility, steward our resources wisely, and serve our community with integrity.
Small acts of service create lasting change.
